Tour Description

Embark on an unforgettable journey to explore one of Peru's most stunning natural wonders: the enchanting Paron Lake, nestled at an elevation of 4,170 meters within the Huascarán National Park.

Departing from your hotel in the city of Huaraz (optional service available), we set off on an intriguing two-hour drive, traversing picturesque Andean landscapes and quaint traditional villages. En route, we will pause in the town of Caraz, where you have the option to savor breakfast at a local eatery before resuming our adventure.

The journey proceeds along a scenic mountain road for an additional hour and a half, leading us to the base camp of Paron Lake. From this point, a brief 15-minute walk brings us to the breathtaking turquoise waters of the largest lagoon in the Cordillera Blanca, recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site of Peru since 2010.

Encircled by magnificent snow-capped peaks such as Pirámide, Chacraraju, Huandoy, Pisco, and Artesonraju—the latter famously known for its inspiration of the Paramount Pictures logo—the lagoon presents an awe-inspiring natural spectacle.

For those seeking adventure, an optional one-hour hike awaits, leading to a natural lookout. Though the trail is steep and winding, the effort is rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the lagoon and the towering white peaks that surround it.

Throughout the excursion, you'll encounter the region's native flora, featuring ferns, orchids, and bromeliads that add vibrant hues to the scenery. Additionally, we will pass through the historic town of Yungay, which holds a poignant place in Andean history due to the devastating 1970 earthquake.

After immersing yourself in this magical corner of the Andes, we will embark on our return journey to the city of Huaraz.
