Tour Description

We will pick you up from your hotel to embark on a journey northward along the Callejón de Huayhuash. As we travel, we'll pass through quaint Andean villages while taking in the breathtaking snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca.

Upon reaching the town of Yungay, we'll head northeast towards the stunning Llanganuco Valley. After registering for entry into the Huascarán National Park, we'll pass by the mesmerizing lakes of Chinancocha and Orconcocha, eventually arriving at Cebolla Pampa, which sits at 3,900 meters above sea level and serves as our starting point for the trek.

Huascarán National Park, declared a natural protected area in 1975, is recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve. Managed by the national service of protected natural areas, it spans a remarkable 3,400 square kilometers.

We will set off on a gentle hike for about an hour, surrounded by the captivating views of Huascarán Mountain, the tallest peak in the White Mountain Range. Our path will lead us up a series of switchbacks until we reach a serene lake, where we can admire the glacial summits of Chacraraju, Yanapaccha, Huascarán, and Chopicalqui, along with the valley's cascading waterfalls.

The eastern side of the Callejón de Huaylas is flanked by the Cordillera Blanca, while the Cordillera Negra lies to the west. This picturesque valley extends for 150 kilometers, with the Santa River flowing through its depths.

Ultimately, we'll reach Lake 69, situated at an elevation of 4,600 meters above sea level. Here, you'll have ample time to capture photographs, soak in the stunning scenery, and marvel at the crystal-clear turquoise waters of this natural wonder.

We will then make our way back down the same trail to Cebolla Pampa, where our transport will be waiting to return you to Huaraz.
