Tour Description
Upon arriving at the designated meeting spot in the vibrant city of Arequipa, we will embark on this incredible cooking class in Arequipa by enjoying a welcome drink known as Chicha Morada. This delightful non-alcoholic beverage is made from purple corn and is sure to refresh your palate.
The culinary journey kicks off with the preparation of two traditional Peruvian dishes. Our professional chef will guide us through each cooking step meticulously. Before diving in, we'll don our aprons and chef's hats, preparing to craft mouthwatering cuisine!
You'll have the opportunity to master one of these two menu types:
* Andean Menu: Start with a refreshing salad known as “Solterito”, crafted from onion, tomato, corn, beans, cheese, and potatoes. For the main course, you'll create “Rocoto Relleno”, featuring spicy peppers stuffed with seasoned ground meat, cheese, and raisins. The rocoto is a fiery red fruit resembling an apple in shape.
* Traditional Menu: Begin with a delectable “Causa” as the appetizer, a dish made from mashed potatoes flavored with yellow pepper and lemon, filled with avocado and either tuna or chicken, and garnished with black olives and vegetables. Savor the main course, “Lomo Saltado”, a classic fusion dish with Chinese influences, cooked in a wok. This flavorful dish combines beef, onion, yellow pepper, tomato, and French fries, served alongside white rice.
* Sea Menu: This special menu starts with “Ceviche” as the appetizer, featuring fresh fish marinated in lemon juice, complemented by onion, sweet potato, and corn. The main course, “Pescado a lo Macho”, consists of a delicious fried fish fillet topped with a savory sauce of onions and tomatoes, accompanied by white rice.
Relish the cooking class while exchanging travel stories with fellow participants and the Peruvian chef, ensuring a fun-filled experience.
To conclude, we'll indulge in the dishes we've prepared, followed by a delightful dessert.
