Tour Description
We will commence our excursion by collecting you in the morning from your centrally located accommodation in Tilcara.
Our trek sets off in the Huasamayo river ravine, a picturesque location encircled by hills and crops, traversed by an ancient path still used by local residents.
This family-friendly walk spans approximately five kilometers and leads you to a breathtaking waterfall, towering over 15 meters high, sculpted by the forces of water over millennia, forming a dramatic gorge in the rock.
In addition to the awe-inspiring waterfall, you'll witness remarkable human engineering at work, as this site houses the water intake system that provides water to the residents of Tilcara.
The adventure features a delightful regional lunch, allowing you to enjoy the authentic tastes of the area while taking in the stunning views of the waterfall and its surroundings.
The trek lasts for half a day, approximately 6 hours, with flexible scheduling to suit your preferences.
The hike concludes back at the starting point, offering breathtaking vistas of the entire Quebrada de Humahuaca and its environs. The total distance covered is 14 km, all on asphalt, with a medium difficulty level.
