Tour Description
At 10:30 am, our experienced guide will be ready to meet us at the designated spot in the heart of El Chaltén. From there, we will take a drive to the Laguna Condor Refuge, situated 20 kilometers north of the town, along the banks of the Río de las Vueltas.
Upon arrival at the refuge, we will participate in an introductory session about the activity, including equipment testing and fitting of safety gear (suits, neoprene boots and gloves, life jacket, and helmet). Before we embark onto the river and delve into its winding paths, we will go over some fundamental movements and safety techniques, ensuring a smooth navigation experience.
Once on the river, we will start the exciting and enjoyable descent, navigating through various meanders as we take in the stunning Patagonian scenery and breathtaking views of Mount Fitz Roy.
After covering 20 kilometers in 3 and a half hours of kayaking, we will arrive back in El Chaltén. We will return to the meeting point where we can change out of our wet gear, unwind, and conclude this wonderful adventure around 5:00 p.m.
** If you opt for the "Half Day" package, the kayak journey along the Río de las Vueltas will cover 10 kilometers in 1 hour and a half, concluding at Bonanza Camp where you can change clothes and relax before boarding the vehicle that will take you back to El Chaltén, with drop-off scheduled around 3:00 p.m.
