Descripción del Tour
Once we pick you up from your hotel (exclusive to private service) or meet at our designated meeting point (for group service), we will embark on this Lima food journey in the bohemian district of Barranco. Our adventure begins with a walking tour around Plaza San Francisco.
Our tour continues as we savor a delicious Peruvian coffee, followed by a tasting of two traditional empanadas. One features “aji de gallina,” a creamy Peruvian dish made with yellow pepper and chicken, while the other boasts a spicy hot pepper filling.
Next, the food walking tour takes us to a gastronomic store showcasing 100% Peruvian products. These items are crafted by small, sustainable, and eco-friendly companies. Here, we’ll indulge in chocolate, a favorite sweet treat, renowned for its intense and high-quality flavors, all handcrafted by local artisans.
Our journey leads us to a small art gallery featuring the remarkable works of Peruvian artist Jade Rivera. Nestled in the heart of Barranco, we’ll enjoy a panoramic walking tour to the Bridge of Sights. This charming wooden bridge, originally built in 1876 and reconstructed several times, is steeped in legend. It is said that if you make a wish while crossing it without taking a breath, your wish will come true.
Next, we visit a local restaurant to delight in a popular Peruvian dish called “Ceviche”, which is fresh raw fish marinated in lemon juice. Additionally, we’ll try “Causa Limena”, a traditional dish made of pressed potatoes, stuffed with avocado and tuna. Savor a refreshing non-alcoholic sweet drink known as Chicha Morada, crafted from purple corn.
The food tour in Lima continues at another restaurant, where we will taste “Lomo Saltado”, a dish featuring sautéed beef tenderloin with onions and tomatoes, served with rice and French fries. We’ll also enjoy a refreshing national soda known as Inka Kola.
Later, we’ll visit one of the city’s most traditional bars to sample a classic Peruvian cocktail, the “Pisco Sour”, crafted with Pisco brandy, lime juice, egg white, and sugar syrup.
We wrap up the tour with a visit to a local ice cream shop, where we’ll taste creamy artisan ice cream featuring delightful Peruvian flavors.
Finally, we return to the hotel (exclusively for private service).
