Descripción del Tour:

The Lima walking food tour kicks off with a pick-up from your hotel in Lima (private service), or we can meet you at the Grand Hotel Bolivar (group service) in Lima's historic center.

Our culinary journey begins at San Martin Square, a site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988, established in 1921. Here, you'll admire notable historical buildings like the National Club.

Strolling along Jiron de la Union, you'll find this traditional street bustling with history and commerce. We will stop at a local eatery to savor the delicious pork sandwich known as "Pan con chicharrón," a street sandwich crafted with pork, fried sweet potato, and onion sauce.

The Lima food tour then takes us to the Central Market, a hub of diverse products at great prices. Here, you'll have the opportunity to taste fresh local Peruvian fruit and explore the area at your own pace.

Next, we head to the Chinese neighborhood. The Chinese community arrived in Peru in the 19th century to fill labor shortages along the coast. Enjoy Chinese snacks and wander through its vibrant market. Before leaving, we’ll try "Chifa," a popular fusion of Peruvian and Cantonese cuisine loved by local families.

Following this, we'll make our way to the Convent of San Francisco to appreciate the stunning architecture. Here, indulge in "Churros," a traditional sweet with a dulce de leche filling. We’ll also visit one of the city's oldest bars to sample a delightful "Causa rellena." Refresh your palate with "Chicha morada," a sweet beverage made from purple corn.

Peruvian food is hailed as one of the finest in South America, and the City of Kings offers a plethora of dining options and incredible food tours like this one.

The tour continues through the Main Square to a lively street lined with food carts. Here, we'll sample "Anticuchos," grilled beef heart skewers marinated with spices, and the traditional dessert "Picarones," made from pumpkin and sweet potato and served with sugar cane syrup.

We'll also try another Peruvian dessert called "Mazamorra Morada," crafted from purple corn, and to complete this incredible experience, we'll enjoy "Emoliente," a popular hot drink with medicinal benefits.

Concluding this extraordinary food tour, we will bid farewell at Jiron Camana, the endpoint for the group service, or return to the hotel for those opting for private service.
