Tour Description
We will collect you from your accommodation in the city of Huaraz and journey towards the scenic district of Marcará. From this point, we'll veer eastward, passing through the quaint agricultural community of Vicos.
As we traverse the magnificent Paqcharuri Valley, you'll be enveloped by striking forests of native vegetation such as nettles, puca puca, shilco, and more. After a ninety-minute drive, we will arrive at the trek's starting point.
You will embark on a one-hour (2 km) hike through enchanting landscapes until we reach the Frozen Lagoon of Rocutuyoc, where every step reveals the power of nature. This lagoon is famed for the turquoise hue of its waters. Here, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic snow-capped peaks including Paccharaju, Bayoraju, Copa, and Akilpo, remarkable highlights of the Andes.
This stunning lagoon is situated within Huascarán National Park and extends 852 meters long. The tour also includes a visit to the striking Paqcharuri waterfall and ancient cave paintings, offering a connection to the region's ancient history.
After spending time around the lagoon, we will commence the one-hour (2 km) return hike to reach our transport. To complete the experience, you have the option to savor a delightful lunch at a local eatery before heading back to the city of Huaraz.
Upon reaching Huaraz, we will drop you off near the city’s Plaza de Armas.
