Discover Palomino Full Day Tour

Our full-day adventure kicks off from Riohacha with a pick-up at your accommodation starting at 07 AM. If you're staying in Santa Marta, you can arrange for a hotel pick-up with prior notice.

After a scenic one-hour drive from Riohacha, we'll reach Palomino, where you'll be greeted with a tasty local breakfast to fuel you for the thrilling activities ahead.

We'll embark on a walk lasting about 2 hours through lush tropical landscapes to the Servhiaka Educational Center. Here, you'll gain insight into the intriguing educational model of the Kogui community, one of the region's most ancient and traditional indigenous cultures, and explore their profound connection with nature.

Next, we'll head to the heart of the village to learn more about the Kogui Servhiaka community, crossing the Palomino River by foot through its lower tributary. On the opposite bank, community members will share their knowledge of the coca leaf (Ayo) and its sacred significance; for them, coca is a medium of communication with the spirits of nature and a means to connect with the divine.

Should the Mamo (spiritual leader) be available, you may participate in a ritual from La Sierra, an experience of protection and well-being from the Sierra Nevada, designed to maintain the harmony between humans and nature.

Following our time with the Kogui community, around 01:00 PM, we'll start the thrilling tubing journey along the Palomino River or the Don Diego River (depending on the river's current). Tubing in this region is a soothing activity where you allow yourself to drift with the river's flow. No prior experience is necessary, as the river current is gentle, making the descent enjoyable for everyone. For an hour, you can unwind, bask in the sun, and admire the local flora and fauna as you float.

Once back on land, you'll visit a local restaurant to savor a traditional Caribbean lunch, featuring fresh and delightful dishes.

The afternoon is reserved for relaxation at an exclusive section of Palomino beach. You'll have time to unwind, sunbathe, swim in the Caribbean Sea, or simply relish the peaceful surroundings.

After a day brimming with adventures and cultural experiences, we'll head back to Riohacha at 05:00 PM. Enjoy the scenic coastal views on your return journey, carrying with you cherished memories of Palomino.

The day concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation around 06:30 PM.
