Today we will embark on a marine expedition. This is a Whale Watching adventure in the Chañaral Island Marine Reserve in the Atacama Region, where the majesty of the ocean comes alive.
We will begin this adventure by departing early from La Serena at approximately 8:00 a.m., in search of the Chañaral Island Marine Reserve in the enigmatic Atacama Region. Let`s get ready for a unique and nature-friendly experience.
Once we reach the Chañaral Island Marine Reserve, a marine sanctuary home to amazing biodiversity, we begin our sustainable eco-sailing tour with the goal of spotting the majestic Fin Whale, the second largest animal on the planet.
We sail cautiously in search of the "Fin Whales", who choose this area to feed during whale season. There are also exceptional opportunities to observe the grace of the "Humpback Whale," providing a unique natural spectacle. The Chañaral Island Marine Reserve always offers us the chance to spot migratory birds, sea lions, chungungos, and, in some cases, Humboldt Penguins.
Back on the mainland, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Regional cuisine will always delight us with authentic flavors as we share our impressions of the marine wonders we have just witnessed.
