Trekking Fray Jorge National Park Natural And Cultural Wonder

Today we will set out together to explore the Natural and Cultural Wonder on this trek in the Fray Jorge National Forest Park.

We will begin our adventure departing from La Serena at approximately 8:00 a.m. Get ready to discover all the wonders that await us today. So dress comfortably and bring what you need. Don`t forget water and your camera to capture unique moments, and stay curious to appreciate every detail.

We will arrive at approximately 10:00 am at the Trail in the Fray Jorge Forest, to immerse ourselves in the only "Hydrophilous Forest" in the region. As we walk along a trail of approximately 1 kilometer, we will reach the summit of the hill. We will enjoy this natural treasure, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, which will reveal its unique essence: a magical, reflective Valdivian forest, a jewel in harmony with the surrounding semi-arid ecosystem. Ideal for all levels of trekking.

We will be able to immerse ourselves in the richness of the forest, fed by the camanchaca, a dense fog that rises from the sea and gives life to this unique ecosystem. We`ll discover the native flora and fauna while exploring the park`s trails.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., we`ll head to Barraza, a colonial town that has maintained its charm since the 1800s. Cobblestone streets, old-style houses, and the essence of the past will transport us to another era. At approximately 2:00 p.m., we`ll continue our adventure and head to an Archaeological Heritage Site. We`ll explore the Valle del Encanto National Monument, where the past comes alive through petroglyphs and pictographs that reveal the richness of the Molle culture. We will discover traces of hunters with records dating back to 2000 BC. and small stones that tell the stories of ancient cultures.

 At approximately 5:00 PM, we will begin our return to La Serena, but we will leave with our hearts full of unforgettable experiences, charged with the sensations we experienced today in this unique natural setting in the region.

Today you will have an exceptional day of travel that will take us from the magical forest of Fray Jorge to the beautiful Tongoy beach or to the unique Valle del Encanto.
