The adventure begins as we travel north together, reaching the town of Punta de Choros, in the Coquimbo region. We begin a sailing tour to Choros Island, home to the largest number of Humboldt penguins in the entire National Reserve.
Also, on Choros Island, we will have the opportunity to see different types of cormorants, pelicans, boobies, sea lions, chungungos or sea otters, and most importantly, the largest population of Humboldt penguins.
In this area, there are possible sightings of bottlenose dolphins, unique in the South Pacific, and if we have a little Fortunately, we can also go whale watching from approximately November to mid-May.
Then the cruise will take us to Damas Island. There are some days without landing; on these days, we will skirt around and explore this wonderful island from the boat. On the days when there is a landing, we can walk along its paths, rest on the sand, and take photographs. Back on the mainland, we`ll have lunch at a typical local restaurant.

Today we invite you to embark together on a magical journey to Damas Island, where biodiversity intertwines with breathtaking landscapes. Let`s discover the unique wildlife today, from penguins to bird colonies, in this natural refuge.
Today we will begin our day early in the morning. Departing at approximately 6:00 a.m. from our hotel in La Serena to begin this adventure, we will head north into the Coquimbo region, until we reach the picturesque town of Punta de Choros, which will be our starting point for this marine adventure.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., we will embark on This exciting journey to Chorus Island. We will begin sailing until we reach the home of the largest concentration of Humboldt penguins in the National Reserve. We will also observe up close cormorants, pelicans, boobies, sea lions, chungungos, and sea otters. We promise this is a unique experience for lovers of marine and natural wildlife.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., nature will surprise us with possible sightings of bottlenose dolphins, a species unique to the South Pacific. Additionally, from approximately November to mid-May, we might also be fortunate enough to spot whales, further enriching our marine experience.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., we head to Damas Island, skirting it from the boat to admire its beauty from the sea. On permitted days, we might disembark to explore its trails, relax on the sand, and capture unforgettable moments with our cameras. Swimming is not permitted.
Back on land at approximately 3:30 p.m., we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a typical local restaurant. The local cuisine provides authentic flavors to complement our day. Finally, we will visit an olive oil production plant to learn more about the process.
With hearts full of wonder and vivid memories, we conclude our day at Punta de Choros. Every moment shared with the wildlife and nature will become part of our unforgettable expedition. We will begin our return to La Serena at approximately 5:30 PM.
Today, dress in comfortable clothing and bring sunscreen to fully enjoy this experience under the Pacific sun. If you have a waterproof camera, this is the perfect time to use it and capture the magic of the sea without worries.
