Subsequently, the cruise will bring us to Damas Island. There are days when landing is not possible; on such days, we will circumnavigate and admire this magnificent island from the boat. On days when landing is allowed, we can stroll along its trails, relax on the sandy beaches, and capture photographs. Once back on the mainland, we'll dine at a typical local restaurant.

Today, we invite you to join us on a captivating journey to Damas Island, where diverse ecosystems blend seamlessly with stunning scenery. Let's explore the extraordinary wildlife, from penguins to bird colonies, in this natural sanctuary.

We will kick off our day bright and early, departing around 6:00 a.m. from our hotel in La Serena. Our adventure begins as we travel north through the Coquimbo region, reaching the charming village of Punta de Choros, the gateway to our marine exploration.

By approximately 9:00 a.m., we will set sail on this thrilling excursion to Chorus Island. Our voyage will take us to the largest congregation of Humboldt penguins within the National Reserve. We'll also have the chance to observe cormorants, pelicans, boobies, sea lions, chungungos, and sea otters up close. For enthusiasts of marine and natural wildlife, this is an unparalleled experience.

At around 11:30 a.m., we may witness the graceful bottlenose dolphins, a species distinctive to the South Pacific. Additionally, from November to mid-May, we might be lucky enough to spot whales, adding another layer to our marine adventure.

By approximately 1:00 p.m., we will approach Damas Island, admiring its splendor from the boat. On specified days, we might disembark to explore its trails, unwind on its shores, and capture unforgettable memories with our cameras. Please note that swimming is not allowed.

Back on the mainland by roughly 3:30 p.m., we will savor a delightful lunch at a typical local eatery. The regional dishes offer genuine flavors that perfectly complement our day. Afterwards, we'll visit an olive oil production facility to gain insight into the production process.

With hearts brimming with amazement and vivid memories, we conclude our day at Punta de Choros. Each moment spent with the wildlife and nature becomes part of our unforgettable journey. We will start our return to La Serena at around 5:30 p.m.
