Tour Description

On this half-day adventure that blends trekking and paddling, we will pick you up directly from your hotel and take you to the starting location. Our journey begins with a gentle, 40-minute hike through the forests and peat bogs unique to Tierra del Fuego. Upon reaching Laguna Mariposa, we will unpack and inflate the rafts that each participant has brought in their backpack. The Packraft is a lightweight, portable inflatable boat ideal for any type of water, from technical whitewater to ocean bays and fjords, specifically designed for easy long-distance transport. While getting ready, you will receive a comprehensive safety and paddling instruction briefing.
At the lagoon, we will practice our paddling skills before heading onto the river. We’ll paddle downstream for about an hour, taking in the breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains’ valleys and peaks. Along the river, you might spot ducks, a variety of birds, and occasionally beavers.
The first stop will be at a riverbank where the Laguna Esmeralda stream meets the Olivia River. Here, we’ll pause to enjoy a snack and relax, surrounded by the impressive natural scenery.
We will continue our journey along river sections lined with pristine native forest and shrubs, fully immersing ourselves in the untouched landscape. The tour concludes as we return to the starting point, from where you will be transferred back to your hotel, marking the end of an adventure-filled day in nature’s embrace.
