Tour Description
Post-lagoon, the journey ascends onto rocky terrain. This segment is the most challenging of the trek, featuring a continuous ascent lasting about three hours. As we proceed, we leave the forest behind and find ourselves surrounded by the majestic Andes Mountains, with their awe-inspiring peaks.
The route leads us through orange-tinted walls until we reach a natural balcony, offering a view of Laguna Esmeralda below and an expansive landscape in the distance. From this vantage point, we embark on the final climb. Depending on the season, this section may require using your hands for some challenging steps. A helmet and suitable equipment are essential, and the guide will be present throughout, supervising and assisting the group.
Ultimately, after approximately four and a half hours of hiking, we arrive at the glacier. We are welcomed by a 20-meter-high frontal wall, accompanied by a green melting lagoon and a unique environment. In winter, the lagoon freezes and is blanketed in snow, allowing you to walk to the glacier's base. Here, we share lunch and seize the opportunity to rest, converse, and soak in the views before retracing our path back.
