Tour Description
We will depart from our chosen hotels in San Miguel de Tucumán at 7:30 AM, embarking on Route 307, which leads us up to the Valleys. Our journey begins with a passage through the Quebrada del Río Los Sosa, where we will pause at the "El Indio" monument. Our ascent continues to El Mollar, where we will explore the Menhirs, before proceeding to the town of Tafí del Valle.
The route climbs further into the Calchaquí Valleys, reaching Abra del Infiernillo at an altitude of 3,042 meters. In Amaicha del Valle, we will stop to enjoy the plaza and its scenic surroundings.
Our adventure continues to the Quilmes Sacred City, where we will witness the reconstructed residential areas, including a fortress atop a hill and two forts flanking its sides. We will explore on foot what was once the final stronghold of indigenous resistance against Spanish incursions.
Continuing along the iconic Route 40 heading north, our next stop is Colalao del Valle. From there, we journey to Cafayate, renowned for its sunny climate and excellent wines, welcoming us with verdant vineyards in both parral and trellis formations. Here, we will have the opportunity to visit a winery before returning to our selected hotels in Tucumán.
