City Tour Las Grutas Puerto De San Antonio

Our tour starts from the meeting point, you can choose the morning departure at 09:00 am or the afternoon departure at 03:00 pm , depending on the season, the departure time may change and be subject to high tide schedule to take advantage of snorkeling. 

First we will take a short tour in a combi to get to know the urban area of Las Grutas and become familiar with the local environment, while the Guide gives us historical-cultural information on the first settlements that were made in the area and interpretation of the coastal environment.

Next, we will go to the south of the spa, just on the edge of the San Matías Gulf, to get to know one of the undertakings The most innovative cultivation in northern Patagonia: “The southernmost olive grove in the world” which renewed the forms of olive production and agricultural exploitation in the coastal desert of Rio Negro. We will visit the production plant of Olivares Patagónicos, we will taste different types of olive oils and we will know other innovative products that are sold in the place such as flavored cheeses, olive soap and olives. 

We will follow the route north, where  we will visit the Las Grutas waterfront, surrounded by the waters of the San Antonio Oeste Bay;  We will visit the fishing pier and the atmosphere of the old railway district. 

We will advance 70 km to Puerto San Antonio Este, to explore Playa de las Conchillas, an extensive 18 km virgin beach covered with purple clams that gradually lost their pigmentation in the sun, making the coast a whitish and shimmering paradise that many call the "Caribbean of Patagonia" .

The San Antonio Este Port, will also give us the possibility of knowing Punta Perdiz with one of the most unforgettable beaches in the area, Caleta Falsa, at this point we will appreciate the sound of the sea, being a little-exploited area with no inns or shops, the silence will allow us to enjoy the sun, the beach, seagull watching and if we are lucky  we will be able to see a dolphin in the distance in the sea. 

The transparent water will invite us to practice snorkeling , the guide will provide us with the necessary equipment and basic instructions to enjoy this beautiful sport where the marine microfauna will leave us shocked. 

 

To close our circuit, we will leave for La Lobería,  located 5 kms away, to see from the coast, one of the most important colonies of sea lions,  while we enjoy the view we will celebrate the day with a nice toast.

The return to the meeting point is scheduled for 3 or 9 pm, depending on the chosen departure time.
