Tour Description

The day prior to our adventure, we will attend an informative session where the meeting time or pickup schedule from our accommodation will be confirmed.
Participants can choose between two exciting options based on personal preference:
- Option 1: Lake Lacar and Islita.
This journey lasts for 4 hours.
Both morning and afternoon departures are available.
We will gather at the pier in San Martin de los Andes, where our guide will provide us with equipment, a briefing on paddling techniques, and safety guidelines.
The tour begins with a serene navigation inside the bay of Lake Lacar, gently touching the shores of San Martin de los Andes, before venturing into the open waters. We will follow the northern shoreline, tracing the majestic granite cliffs. The crystal-clear waters reveal glimpses of trout, algae, and submerged trees.
We will reach secluded beaches accessible only by water. If conditions permit, we can take a refreshing swim in the transparent lake waters.
Our journey covers approximately 5 kilometers until we arrive at "La Islita," a private beach where we will pause for a snack, revel in the tranquility, and rest.
After 4 hours of sailing, we will return to the shores of San Martin de Los Andes, where we will hand over the equipment and conclude the excursion.
- Option 2: Machonico Channel and Pichi Machonico Lake
This adventure lasts for 5 hours.
Morning and afternoon departures are offered.
A shuttle will collect us from our accommodation, taking us on a 30-minute drive along National Route 40 to reach Lake Machonico, located along the renowned Seven Lakes Route.
Upon arrival, our guide will provide equipment and deliver a briefing on paddling techniques and safety measures.
The navigation begins by crossing the lake to access the Machonico Channel. During the half-hour journey through the channel, we will experience an extraordinary connection with the Andean Forest, witnessing a one-of-a-kind landscape with absolutely transparent and emerald waters.
Upon exiting the channel, we will arrive at Lake Pichi Machonico, a small lake nestled in a forest surrounded by mountains, featuring waterfalls and caves at the heart of the Andes Mountains. Here, we will relish the profound silence and the scent of nature.
We will pause at this lake for a snack, enjoying the surroundings and rejuvenating for the return journey.
After 5 hours on the water, we will return to the shores of Lake Machonico, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to our accommodation.
