Tour Description

Conquering Cerro Corona: A Rewarding Challenge in La Cumbrecita

Your journey begins in the picturesque setting of La Pampita (Schönau), the starting point of this trail leading to the summit of Cerro Corona. Rising to 1,420 meters above sea level, the path meanders westward through the majestic Kristallberge hills.

After a three-kilometer trek, you'll encounter the remnants of the historic Estancia "Los Merlo", a bygone mountain settlement. Here starts the most demanding ascent of the journey: a zigzag climb on a rocky trail offering unmatched panoramic views of the valley.

Over the course of the next three hours, you will tackle a 500-meter elevation gain, eventually arriving at the section known as the "semicircle path." This final stretch leads to a manageable rock face, marking the entrance to the summit.

Standing at 2,020 meters, the peak of Cerro Corona welcomes you with breathtaking 360-degree vistas, providing an ideal natural observation point to relax and enjoy a well-earned meal. Take your time to soak in the vastness of the high-altitude scenery before retracing your steps back to La Cumbrecita.
