Tour Description
Embarking on the Adventure
Our journey kicks off at 9:00 a.m. at the entrance bridge to the town of La Cumbrecita. Here, we gather with our licensed guide and fellow adventurers. Following a brief technical session and equipment check, we set out on our hike through the Historic Center, renowned for its pedestrian streets, alpine architecture, and the distinctive allure of this pedestrian-only village.
Climbing Wank Hill
We embark on the trail leading to the summit of Wank Hill, perched at 1,620 meters above sea level. The climb, which spans roughly an hour and a half, takes us up a gradual elevation of 260 meters. As we ascend, the scenery unfolds, presenting us with ever more breathtaking vistas of the valley and the Cordoba mountains.
Descending to Wildbach and Arriving at Wildermann
From the peak, we start our descent toward the Wildbach stream—translated as "wild stream" in German—following its flow downstream. This path guides us to the Wildermann, a striking granite monolith visible from the village and integral to local climbing history. Here, early mountaineers etched their stories in summit books, standing as a testament to their mountain passion.
Forest Lunch and Relaxation
Having explored this historically rich location, we retreat into the forest for a much-needed break. We enjoy lunch in the cool shade of the trees, enveloped by the sounds of nature and a tranquil atmosphere.
Return via Forested Paths
Our return journey takes us along ancient, vegetation-lined paths, bringing us full circle to the historic center of La Cumbrecita by 3:30 p.m. We leave with fresh memories of an experience that seamlessly blends adventure, culture, and nature.
