Trevelin And Galesa Route
Descripción del Tour
The tour begins with pick up from your centrally located hotel in Esquel. We will head southwest of the city in search of National Route No. 259, now known as the Welsh Route, which connects Trevelin with Chile.
Our first stop will be the Nant y Fall Protected Natural Area, located just 20 kilometers from Trevelin. We will appreciate four spectacular waterfalls and panoramic viewpoints along an interpretive trail of approximately 1600 meters. All waterfalls are located within the Owen family`s property, who decided to donate 250 hectares surrounding the falls, forming Chubut`s first protected natural area.
We will then arrive at the Nant Fach Mill Museum and the Nant y Fall Vineyard, where you will experience their captivating history firsthand. This visit will take you on a journey to the past, where the legacy of the Welsh settlers in the valley is still alive. The mill reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of the Welsh pioneers who brought to life the old family and semi-industrial mills characteristic of the 19th century. These mills, handcrafted with stone, ground wheat grains using ancient techniques to produce flour.
To conclude, we will make a stop in the city of Trevelin, known as the "Mill Town" in Welsh, and also referred to as the "Garden of the Province" due to the spectacular display of native and introduced species during spring. Here, you will have free time to explore the historic center and savor typical local products such as traditional Welsh tea.
After approximately 4 and a half hours of travel, we will return to Esquel following the same route, and the services will end with drop off at your hotel.
