Tour Description
The adventure sets off with a convenient pick-up from your centrally located hotel in Esquel. We will journey southwest of the city, embarking on National Route No. 259, also known as the Welsh Route, which links Trevelin with Chile.
Our initial destination is the Nant y Fall Protected Natural Area, situated just 20 kilometers from Trevelin. Here, you'll marvel at four breathtaking waterfalls and enjoy panoramic vistas along a 1600-meter interpretive trail. These stunning waterfalls are nestled within the Owen family estate, who generously donated 250 hectares surrounding the falls, establishing Chubut's inaugural protected natural area.
Next, we will visit the Nant Fach Mill Museum and the Nant y Fall Vineyard, where you'll delve into their captivating history. This experience transports you back in time, showcasing the enduring legacy of Welsh settlers in the valley. The mill embodies the innovative spirit of the Welsh pioneers, who brought to life the traditional family and semi-industrial mills of the 19th century. Crafted with stone, these mills utilized ancient techniques to grind wheat grains into flour.
Finally, we'll stop in the city of Trevelin, known as "Mill Town" in Welsh, and often called the "Garden of the Province" for its stunning display of native and introduced flora in spring. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore the historic center and indulge in local delicacies, including the renowned traditional Welsh tea.
After approximately 4 and a half hours of exploration, we will make our way back to Esquel via the same route, concluding the journey with a drop-off at your hotel.
