Tour Description

The journey kicks off in the charming town of Esquel, where we gather and hop into our 4x4 vehicles. Our adventure starts with a drive to Villa Futalaufquen, a route that leads us through some of the region's most stunning landscapes, including portions of the magnificent Los Alerces National Park.
As we enter a private ranch, our path guides us to our ultimate destination: Cerro La Torta. During the climb in our 4x4s, we traverse the historical cart tracks once used for transporting firewood from the forest. Along the way, we navigate through lenga forests, cross mountain streams, and revel in increasingly breathtaking views of the National Park and Laguna Larga.
After approximately an hour of ascending by vehicle, we reach the highest point where forest still thrives. Here, we park the vehicles and gear up for the next chapter of our adventure: a hike along the Irigoyen Stream. The surroundings offer an awe-inspiring landscape, imbued with a sense of utter tranquility unique to this locale.
The hike spans around an hour, guiding us through natural vistas until we arrive at a breathtaking waterfall. Nestled just beneath the waterfall are the eagerly anticipated and astonishing ice tunnels, a true natural marvel. We will explore the tunnels and capture this incredible moment with photos.
Following our exploration of the ice tunnels and the enjoyment of the picturesque environment, we begin our descent, returning to the vehicles for our journey back to Esquel.
