Descripción del Tour
Once we pick you up from your hotel, we'll embark on a journey to the South Valley of Cusco, heading along the highway to our first destination. Our adventure begins with a visit to the temple of water at Tipón, situated 16 miles southeast of the city.
This impressive archaeological site spans a large area featuring 12 stunning terraces, primarily dedicated to the water cult. What truly sets it apart is its irrigation system, which remains functional, continuing to nourish crops even today. Fascinatingly, the Inca Trail is integrated into this site, which covers 240 hectares and sits at an average altitude of 3,316 meters above sea level.
Our next destination is the Pikillacta ruins, a vital pre-Inca urban center that played a crucial role in the Huari culture from the 6th to the 9th centuries. Pikillacta is positioned at 3,250 meters above sea level, encompassing an area of 50 hectares.
We will then proceed to the town of Andahuaylillas. This charming Andean village is home to an extraordinary chapel, often referred to as “The Sistine Chapel of America.” Constructed around the sixteenth century, this remarkable site boasts a Renaissance exterior and a Baroque interior, adorned with gold, murals, and canvases throughout.
Concluding our exploration of the captivating south sacred valley, we will drop you off at El Regocijo Square, conveniently located just one block from Plaza de Armas.
