Descripción del Tour:

In the early morning hours, we will collect you from your hotel in Cusco for an exciting journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our adventure begins in the charming town of Chinchero, located 17 miles from Cusco.

During our visit, we'll explore a local workshop to observe traditional methods used to craft exquisite textiles. On Sundays, the vibrant Chinchero market comes alive, offering an array of handcrafted items and clothing.

Next, our tour takes us to the intriguing salt mines of Maras, perched on an open hillside within the Urubamba Valley. These historic saltpans showcase an ingenious Inca process where subterranean streams evaporate salty water that surfaces at a spring. The water is channeled through a complex network of channels to fill the numerous ancient salt ponds. As the water evaporates, it leaves a residue of salt on the ground, exposed to the sun.

Following our exploration of the Maras salt mines, we will proceed to the fascinating Moray ruins. These ruins feature three coliseum-like structures, believed to have served the Incas as an open-air agricultural laboratory. The structures consist of large circular terraces, the deepest of which reaches approximately 30 meters (98 feet). These terraces, arranged in concentric circles, resemble an ancient Greek amphitheater.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is renowned for its fertile lands ideal for agriculture and its remarkable archaeological sites. This destination offers insights into the Inca Empire's way of life and their advanced construction techniques.

As our tour concludes, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
