Tour Description
Starting at 7 AM, one of our vehicles will pick you up from your hotel in Santa Marta to embark on this exciting adventure. We will depart the city, traveling through the center to take the Troncal del Caribe highway for a 45-minute drive to the main entrance of Tayrona Park (El Zaino).
Upon arrival at the national park, we will disembark, check in each traveler, and purchase entrance tickets. The guide will then provide a brief orientation on the park's conservation and safety regulations.
We will enter Tayrona Park on foot, starting our ecological walk. The well-marked trail will lead you through lush tropical forests and breathtaking landscapes. You’ll enjoy the atmosphere and capture stunning photographs along the way.
The hike lasts approximately 2 hours, depending on our pace and the stops made. We will traverse winding paths that immerse us in dense tropical forests, enjoy the refreshing shade, and appreciate a vast array of flora and fauna within the park. Expect to see towering ceibas, palms, ferns, and a wide variety of orchids, known as the "national flower." We will also pass by small streams and cross makeshift bridges, adding an adventurous touch to the experience. It is advised to always follow the guide's instructions and remain on designated trails.
As we near Cabo San Juan, the sound of waves crashing against the shore will heighten our excitement. The final portion of the trail descends to the main beach of Cabo San Juan, where you will be greeted by the stunning view of the beach and the Caribbean Sea. This moment will be a rewarding culmination of our long hike.
Once at Cabo San Juan, you will have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You can swim in the crystal-clear waters or simply unwind on the sand.
In Cabo San Juan, you'll find restaurants offering local dishes and fresh seafood. The guide will provide recommendations so you can savor a delicious lunch with a view of the Caribbean Sea (lunch not included in the activity).
You can choose to explore the surroundings of Cabo San Juan. Take a short hike to the cape's viewpoint for a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape or enjoy a dip in the nearby natural pools.
We will remain in Cabo San Juan until around 3:30 PM, when we will begin the hike back to the park entrance. This will be an opportunity to once again appreciate the natural beauty and capture the last images of the landscape.
We will exit the park and return to Santa Marta, concluding our adventure with a drop-off at your accommodation.
