We will start the day by picking you up at the door of your accommodation in Medellín (if you are staying in the Poblado area) or at the meeting point starting at 8:00 a.m.

Our first destination will take you to a beautiful coffee farm in La Estrella, where you will find a natural oasis just minutes from the city. Here, surrounded by stunning gardens and panoramic views of mountains and the city, you`ll learn all the secrets of producing high-quality organic coffee in Colombia.

You`ll explore the coffee plantations and discover the key factors that make Colombian coffee one of the best in the world.

Walking among the plants, you`ll learn why Organic coffee farming involves sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices, without the use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers. You will learn about soil preparation, the first planting of seedlings in sand, until they reach the field; maintenance, pruning, weed removal, and disease and pest prevention through organic methods such as the introduction of beneficial insects and the use of traps.

Once the tour is completed in field, you`ll enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while participating in an interactive talk about the result of the responsible farming process, which is often appreciated for its distinctive flavor and its commitment to sustainability.

Then, we`ll head back into town to visit the Green Hills Coffee Thresher and Toaster, a specialized laboratory, where you will delve into the industrial coffee process. An expert team will show you how the flavor and unique characteristics of the coffee are enhanced before it reaches your cup, including selection, roasting, and packaging of the coffee. This experience will allow you to appreciate in greater detail each stage of the transformation of the bean until the cup of coffee.

The activity will culminate with a tasting of specialty coffees, including cups that have won awards for their exceptional flavor profiles and differentiated notes that have received praise from professional tasters.
