We kick off our day bright and early at 6:10 AM, gathering at the Estadio Metro Station, a key landmark in the city that offers convenient access for those staying in the Laureles district.
Our next stop is Parque del Poblado, a bustling and iconic spot in the heart of Medellín. Here, we will join other travelers at 7:00 AM who are lodging in nearby areas.
By 7:30 AM, we embark on our journey to Guatapé, a charming town renowned for its vibrant colors and colonial allure. During the trip, our guide will provide insightful information about the region's history and culture, preparing you for the experiences ahead.
We will make a brief stop at Alto del Chocho, where you can soak in stunning panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountainous landscapes. This pause offers a great chance to snap photos and stretch your legs before we continue.
Around 9:30 AM, we reach our first official destination, the replica of the Old Peñol, a monument honoring the old town now submerged beneath the dam's waters. Here, you'll delve into the area's history and culture while enjoying breathtaking views from above.
Our adventure continues with a unique perspective of the Guatapé Dam aboard a boat. This boat ride offers a different vantage point of the region's natural beauty, as we sail for approximately 40 minutes and learn about the dam's significance to the locals.
By noon, we arrive at one of the most iconic spots on our tour, the majestic Piedra del Peñol. While the climb to the summit is not included, you will have time to admire this natural marvel from the base and capture awe-inspiring photographs. Should you choose, you can ascend the 702 steps to the top (tickets for the climb are available for purchase on-site).
