For this activity, you can select either the morning departure at 08:00 AM or the afternoon departure at 01:00 PM. Upon arrival at the designated meeting points, our team will greet you warmly and provide all the essential information to begin your tour.

We will leave the city behind to immerse ourselves in the vibrant landscape filled with flowers in Santa Elena, the quintessential Silletero town, situated just 50 minutes from the Paisa capital. Through panoramic windows, you can admire the picturesque mountain scenery that surrounds Medellín.

Throughout the trip, our accompanying guide will share fascinating insights about the history and cultural significance of the Flower Fair and the Silletera tradition. You will learn how this celebration began in the 1950s as a tribute to the flower industry and, over the years, evolved into one of the country’s most important events. The role of the silleteros, whose roots go back to the 19th century, is central to the festival, as they carry the legacy of their ancestors and continue to pass on their skills and knowledge to new generations. This special mix of tradition, color, and creativity makes the Flower Fair an unforgettable experience for everyone who witnesses it.

Upon arrival at the farm, you’ll be greeted by your silletero hosts, who will welcome you with traditional music and displays of their craft. You will start a guided tour of the farm where you’ll discover how silletas are made, from the careful selection of flowers to the final assembly. You’ll also have the chance to interact with local silleteros, who will share stories and anecdotes about their work and daily life in the region.

You’ll take part in a hands-on demonstration of how to create a silleta, giving you a greater appreciation for the artistry and dedication involved in crafting these floral masterpieces.

You’ll enjoy a delicious snack as you continue learning about the Silletera tradition. At the end of the tour, you will receive a special souvenir, a “mulera”, to commemorate this unique experience.

After four hours discovering this beautiful family legacy, we’ll return to Medellín, where the tour ends and you can keep enjoying the festive atmosphere that fills the city during the Flower Fair.
