After the pick up at your place of accommodation, we will begin our day in the heart of Medellín, the city center. There you can admire the colonial architecture while we walk through its lively streets. We will discover the rich history and culture of Medellín and pass by the famous Metropolitan Basilica Cathedral, located in Bolívar Park. The cathedral is an imposing religious building that stands out for its Gothic architecture and for being one of the main icons of the center.

Our next stop will take us to Plaza Botero, where you can marvel at the iconic sculptures by renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero. These exaggerated and voluptuous sculptures are a unique expression of contemporary art and will immerse us in the artist`s creativity and his references to the Colombian conflict and history. 

Then, we will head to the Metrocable, an air transportation system that will take us to theheights of Medellín. We will climb aboard and enjoy the impressive panoramic views of the city. Our destination will be Comuna 1, specifically the Santo Domingo neighborhood. Upon arriving in Santo Domingo, we will explore the Commune, an area that has undergone a significant transformation. There we will learn about local history and culture as we walk through its colorful streets. We will learn about the stories of resilience and improvement of the community and we will appreciate the shocking murals that adorn its facades.

During our visit, we will also have the opportunity to interact with local residents and learn about their community projects and endeavors. It will be an enriching experience that will allow us to understand more deeply daily life in Commune 1.
