The Silleteros Parade usually takes place in early August during the Medellín Flower Festival. Tours depart early to ensure good access and arrive at the parade area well in advance. The complete tour typically lasts between 5 and 8 hours, including transfers, entrance fees, and the event itself. The meeting point may be your hotel within the city limits or a central location; you will receive confirmation on your voucher. Please arrive 15–30 minutes early, bring your ID, and follow the guide's instructions for smooth boarding, safety along the route, and a seamless travel experience.
The price of the Silleteros Parade tour varies depending on the season, seat type (e.g., numbered bleachers), included services, and how far in advance you book. Due to high tourist demand during the Flower Festival, book weeks in advance. Most operators accept credit cards and bank transfers; check for applicable taxes and fees. Cancellation policies are usually flexible up to 48–72 hours prior to departure, with possible charges for dates closer to the tour date. If it rains, the event generally continues; in the event of official rescheduling, the provider will inform you of alternative dates or credit options. Review the terms and conditions on your voucher and save contact information for assistance on the day of the tour.
Yes, it's a safe and family-friendly activity when you follow the guide's instructions and stay in designated areas. As it's a large event, travel light, stay hydrated, and use sun protection. Children are welcome; please inquire about rates and age requirements. For people with reduced mobility, please request accessible seating and appropriate transportation in advance; availability is limited and requires confirmation. Bring identification and travel insurance, avoid carrying restricted items, and agree on a meeting point with your group. The local team monitors the itinerary and handles emergencies, providing assistance in Spanish and English so you can enjoy the Paisa culture with peace of mind in Medellín.
To enjoy the tour, wear comfortable, cool clothing, closed-toe shoes, a hat or cap, sunscreen, UV sunglasses, and a lightweight raincoat (rain in Medellín can be unpredictable). Bring a reusable water bottle (if permitted), snacks, cash and a credit card, and your ID. A camera or smartphone with an extra battery will help you capture the flower arrangements. Avoid sharp objects, glass containers, or drones, which are often restricted. Arrive early, respect local customs, and follow the guide. If you have time, combine the tour with a visit to Santa Elena to learn about the flower farms and the silletero tradition.
