We will meet the local guide at the designated spot at 10:30 a.m. if you opt for the morning shift, or at 4:00 p.m. if you choose the afternoon shift. The guide, fluent in both Spanish and English, will provide a brief introduction to the tour, outlining what you will experience over the next 2 and a half hours.
Our journey begins at La Matuna, where we will pause to sample two traditional delicacies: ceviche and patacón with whey and cheese. This blend of fresh, local flavors is among the most iconic dishes of the region.
Next, we will proceed to the Portal de los Dulces, a place rich in history and sweetness, where you can savor the typical sweets of Colombia and the Caribbean region. The fusion of Spanish, African, and indigenous influences in these sweets will amaze you.
Our tour continues to the San Diego neighborhood, a hub of culinary tradition. Here, you can taste the famous Cartagena fried foods, including egg arepa, carimañola, and stuffed potato. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Cartagena soup, perfect for the city's warm climate.
