The tour kicks off at 9 AM from the designated meeting point.
Our initial stop will be the MioCable station, the cable car that transports us to Comuna 20. This transportation system's history reflects a commitment to offering development opportunities to a historically marginalized community. Since its launch, the MioCable has symbolized more than just transportation; it stands as a beacon of progress and empowerment for the residents of the commune and its vicinity.
From the cable car, we'll capture exceptional panoramic views of the commune and the city, providing a unique perspective on Cali's urban development and beauty from above.
Upon arriving at the Commune, we'll receive a brief overview of the area and its heritage. Comuna 20 encompasses 11 neighborhoods, notably the well-known Siloé, which has overcome significant challenges, including periods of violence, socioeconomic struggles, and conflicts related to drug trafficking and illegal armed groups.
In spite of the scars from those challenging times, the residents of Siloé have united through collective effort, social initiatives, and determination to transform the neighborhood's image and foster a safer and more prosperous environment.
We'll venture into the heart of Siloé to hear firsthand stories from our local guide about its residents. We'll visit the Mirador “Yo Amo A Siloe,” a vantage point offering breathtaking views of the commune. You'll have the opportunity to snap selfies with stunning cityscapes in the background.
