Descripción del Tour
Embark on an enriching 8-hour journey to explore two remarkable attractions near Bogotá: the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita in Sesquilé and the intriguing Crazy House, known for its captivating optical illusions.
Our adventure begins in the morning as we depart from Bogotá towards the Guatavita Lagoon, situated roughly 70 kilometers to the northeast of the city. The scenic drive takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, traversing the Cundiboyacense savannah and picturesque mountainous terrains. Nestled within a nature reserve at an elevation of 3,100 meters, the lagoon awaits your discovery.
Upon arrival at the park, you will receive a briefing on the walking route. Guided by an expert, we will navigate the ecological trails leading to the lagoon's primary viewpoint. Here, you'll delve into the rich history and cultural significance of this revered site to the indigenous Muisca people, where sacred rituals and gold offerings unfolded, inspiring the legend of El Dorado. From the summit, enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the lagoon, framed by native flora and high-altitude ecosystems.
Following your exploration of the park, enjoy some free time to savor lunch at local eateries in Sesquilé or Guatavita. Your guide will be on hand to suggest dining options tailored to your tastes.
Post-lunch, our journey continues to the tour's second highlight: the Casa Loca, a fascinating attraction located on the fringes of Guatavita. This uniquely tilted structure employs visual effects and perceptual techniques to evoke sensations of disorientation. During the guided tour, you'll have the opportunity to explore its intriguing spaces, capture memorable photos, and immerse yourself in its optical wonders.
Concluding the tour, we will begin our return to Bogotá, with an anticipated arrival back in the city around 4:00 p.m.
