Descripción del Tour:
Today, we invite you to embark on a local adventure that will take you through the lush green spaces and historic landmarks of downtown Santiago. Discover the city’s parks, contemporary neighborhoods, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Santiago's residents for an unforgettable afternoon. Dive into its rich history, lively culture, and distinctive architecture, all interwoven since colonial times.
We will pick you up from your hotel around 8:00 AM or 2:30 PM to commence our journey towards Santiago’s historic center.
Our first stop, a 5 to 10-minute walk away, will be Cerro Santa Lucía. This green oasis in the city’s heart offers a refreshing escape from the urban hustle. Every corner of this site echoes a rich history dating back to pre-Columbian times. Among its treasures is the Hidalgo Castle, a 19th-century fortress showcasing neoclassical architecture. The cobblestone paths lead to its highlights: terraces, viewpoints, and gardens that offer stunning views of Santiago and the Andes, along with fountains and sculptures like the Neptune Fountain and Plaza de la Victoria.
Next, we will visit the enchanting Lastarria Neighborhood, celebrated for its bohemian charm, cobblestone streets, cafes, and art and culture shops. It's the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll and exploration.
Our tour continues to Plaza de Armas, the historical core of Santiago and known as kilometer 0, the origin point of Chile. Here, you will witness the Metropolitan Cathedral and other surrounding historic buildings, including the City Hall, the Post Office, and the History Museum.
We will then move on to the significant Civic District, home to notable governmental and cultural institutions, such as the La Moneda Palace. As the presidential seat of Chile, this building is a crucial historical and political symbol. Renowned for its elegant facade, it played a pivotal role during the 1973 military coup. Although the interior may be inaccessible, the surrounding courtyards and gardens are a delight to explore. If timing permits, we might witness the impressive changing of the guard ceremony.
After exploring this picturesque area, we will head to "Sanhattan", Santiago’s most modern business district. Here, you will admire the tallest building in South America, expansive Vitacura parks, and the dynamic modernity of this vibrant area.
As you can see, the city offers an array of fascinating places to explore and discover. This panoramic tour provides an opportunity to delve into Santiago’s diversity and history, allowing you to capture its highlights in just half a day.
