Descripción del Tour

We will begin our experience today by visiting the Ahu Vaihu and Akahanga. The ahu are temples composed of stone platforms or altars where groups of moai are located. The Ahu Vaihu is framed by cliffs where the ocean waves crash, giving it a stunning appearance. The Ahu Akahanga area has not been restored and allows you to see the state in which the island was found by the first explorers.

We will continue our tour by heading towards Rano Raraku, a volcanic crater formed by the solidification of ash, and which contains a lagoon inside. Here, in this place, the mysterious moai were carved, of which 397 sculptures remain, still unfinished.

Then we will visit Ahu Tongariki, a 200-meter-long ceremonial platform that houses 15 enormous moai. We will also visit Ahu Te Pito Kura, where the impressive Moai Paro is located, the largest on the island, measuring 10 meters tall and weighing 85 tons.

In this place, we will also find a large spherical stone that is identified as the navel of the world, called Te Pito o Te Henua.

To close out our day with a flourish, we will go for a drink. A break at Anakena, the island`s most popular beach. In addition to its natural beauty, you can appreciate a long row of moai that face the sea, making it very special. Here we can enjoy our lunch or box lunch (not included, but you can request it as a special if you prefer).

Afterward, we will return to the center of Hanga Roa or to your hotel, whichever you prefer.

Without a doubt, the best way to get a general overview of the island, getting a closer look at its culture, customs, and people.

Don`t miss it! You can lose if you are on Rapa Nui!
