Rural Tourism Ferreyra Post

At the appointed time, we'll set off from the meeting point, either on horseback or in a 4x4 vehicle, departing from the Plaza de San Javier until we reach the post.

Upon arrival at the post, a unique spot awaits us, where we can enjoy the breeze and mature fruit trees. Here, we are greeted by Don Hernán Ferreyra, his wife Cristina, and their children with traditional mate infused with pepperina, homemade bread, and some seasonal sweets.

As we trek through the mountains that nourish the Ferreyra Post, we'll observe cows and horses grazing peacefully atop the hills. Additionally, there is a variety of farm animals to see, including goats, whose enclosures facilitate milk and cheese production. Moreover, throughout the excursion, there is an opportunity to interact with some of these animals.

The Ferreyra family upholds the weaving tradition and the practice of harvesting mountain herbs. Visitors can witness the creation of ponchos, blankets, and quilts on a large wooden loom, with these items available for purchase.

After enjoying the mates, we will proceed to the corrals where the goats await their mothers returning from grazing. We will hike up the stream to reach the Hoya del Tabaquillo, a deep pool with crystal-clear waters, home to a Tabaquillo specimen.

Finally, we return to the Post, where lunch and folk music will be waiting for us. After this delightful rural experience, we'll bid farewell and begin our return journey among streams and ferns, once again on our horse or in the 4x4 vehicle, depending on the chosen option.

During the nighttime return, unlike the daytime, you'll witness the path illuminated by the stars and the moon, and we'll carry flashlights to light our way.

We will arrive at Estancia Las Violetas, concluding our tour after 7 hours.
