Descripción del Tour:
We will embark on an adventure along the “Road to the Clouds,” tracing the iconic path of the renowned Train to the Clouds, a marvel of engineering initiated in the 1920s. Our journey will take us through the Quebrada del Toro en route to San Antonio de los Cobres. Along the way, we'll pause for photos, especially at the impressive La Polvorilla Viaduct, and make a stop at Alfarcito, a charming locale nestled in the elevated landscapes of the Quebrada del Toro, where we will enjoy breakfast.
Following this, we'll proceed on a scenic route leading us to the breathtaking Salinas Grandes. This part of the trip offers a stark contrast in scenery and the opportunity to spot llamas and vicuñas.
At the Salinas, we'll be greeted by one of Argentina’s most stunning white expanses, accented with sporadic turquoise hues and nearly flawless reflections. With the guidance of a local expert, we'll have the chance to explore this vast salt sea and its mesmerizing turquoise lagoons. The visit may include a special trip to the Ojos del Salar, depending on weather conditions and the access granted by indigenous communities overseeing the area. Our guide will also share insights into the intriguing process of extracting table salt. This setting is perfect for capturing iconic photos with jumping poses, perspective shots, and reflections in the salt pools and the salt flat's eyes.
Once we’ve immersed ourselves in this salt mirror, we'll embark on the third leg of our journey, traversing the Cuesta de Lipán, a remarkable scenic route featuring a descent of 2,000 meters over 35 km. Here, you'll witness the transition from the arid desert of the Puna to the lush fertility of the humid valleys. Our journey will conclude in the picturesque town of Purmamarca, where we'll have a technical stop.
From Purmamarca, we'll begin our return journey to the City of Salta.
