From this point, our adventure takes us into the stunning landscapes of southern Chile, leading us into the heart of the Torres del Paine National Park (known as "Blue" in the Tehuelche language, highlighting the predominant color of this magnificent place). Here, we will engage in various activities, including hiking and exploring with 4x4 vehicles.
As we leave the Cerro Castillo border, we will follow the route skirting Lago Toro before reaching the Serrano River. This journey offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Paine Grande and Almirante Nieto mountains. We will pause to capture photos and admire the distant beauty of Grey Lake.
By approximately 11:30 a.m., our group will arrive at the Rio Serrano entrance, where park rangers will check entrance tickets. We will then proceed to the Phoe campsite, allowing time for lunch while enjoying the stunning vistas of the Cuernos del Paine.
Around 1:00 p.m., we will reach Puerto Pudeto, the starting point for the trail leading to Salto Grande. This hike takes about 40 minutes, and if weather conditions permit, we will continue with a longer trek of around 50 additional minutes to Lake Nordenskjold to get a closer view of the Cuernos del Paine.
Next, we will drive towards the Lake Nordenskjold Upper Lookout, passing by Swan Lagoon and eventually arriving at Bitter Lagoon. From here, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Torres del Paine.
After exploring these incredible sites, we will continue to Cerro Castillo to begin our return journey around 5:00 p.m., arriving back at our selected hotels in El Calafate by approximately 9:00 p.m.
