Beginning at 7 am, if you've chosen the transfer option, we will pick you up from your hotel and travel in a comfortable bus to Punta Bandera Port, situated 47 km from El Calafate.
By 9:00 am, we will embark on an extraordinary boat to commence the navigation through the North Arm of Lake Argentino. We cross the Devil's Mouth towards the Upsala Channel and navigate among the huge icebergs calved from the front of the Upsala Glacier.
Next, we enter the Spegazzini Channel, and shortly after, we will catch our first glimpse of the Dry Glacier. We continue our journey to the face of the Spegazzini Glacier, where we will also view the Heim Sur and Peineta glaciers.
During the navigation, our captain will pause so that we can admire the ice blocks from various angles and capture stunning photographs.
Our disembarkation point will be Spegazzini Base, where we will start exploring the area by walking along the path from the forest to the Spegazzini Shelter. This 300-meter trail is accessible, with stops at stations and viewpoints offering views of Glacier Bay. During the walk, we will pause at various stations (Glaciology - History - Fauna and Flora) and have access to viewpoints.
The trail is easily accessible and does not present any difficulty as it is on firm ground.
Upon reaching the Shelter, visitors can enjoy the local cuisine, visit the shop, and take in the breathtaking panoramic views from both the lounges and the outdoor Deck Terrace. There will be time to enjoy your own lunch or purchase food.
At this location, if you opted for the lunch package, we will serve the Refugio menu or the VIP menu, depending on your advance reservation.
We also offer an option for those who enjoy walking; they can take the mountain trail. This excursion is a medium-difficulty trek through a wooded path with natural viewpoints, offering stunning vistas that conclude at the landing point.
Once back on the boat, we will begin the second part of our navigation.
At approximately 4:00 pm, we will arrive back at Punta Bandera.
If you selected the transfer option, we will return to El Calafate at around 4:00 p.m.
