Our adventure commences with the pick-up from the central hotels of El Calafate around noon, as we set out for the Estancia Río Mitre. The journey covers 53 kilometers along the shores of Lago Argentino , transitioning onto route 60 before navigating a gravel path to reach our destination.
As we approach, we will observe that the estancia is nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes , with views of the Andes Mountains and the Magallanes Peninsula . Upon entering, guests will be greeted with tea, mate, or hot coffee as they receive a welcome briefing . The hosts will inform us about the horses , ensuring safety while riding , and discuss important considerations for this activity.
Next, we will proceed to the stables to embark on the horseback ride towards the shores of Lake Rico . Once there, we will ride along the lake , taking in the stunning views of snow-capped mountains surrounding us. This moment is dedicated to immersing ourselves in the sounds of nature , appreciating the unique scenery , and watching the numerous migratory birds that pass by.
Meanwhile, the guide will share insights into the history and geography of the area for those interested. This is an opportunity for everyone to either explore independently or walk and learn more about the region with the guide.
As we conclude the ride, the guide will lead us back to the ranch, where a delicious Patagonian Lamb awaits, expertly cooked over an open flame and served with a diverse selection of salads. After lunch, guests will have free time to explore the ranch facilities, while those who opted for the "4 HS RIDING" option will partake in this activity.
Once we conclude this remarkable day , we will return to the city and escort you back to your central hotel.
