Tour Description
The adventure kicks off with a convenient pick-up from guests' hotels in our 4x4 vehicles, embarking on an exciting journey across the expansive Patagonian steppe.
As we travel among the towering cliffs, with stunning views of the Andes Mountains, the trip delves into the initial encounters between the early explorers and the indigenous people, subsequently immersing us in the rich Tehuelche world. On the lake's edge lie the ancient caves where this culture left its mark on the rocks thousands of years ago, inviting us to unravel their mysteries today.
The tour concludes in another cave, where a delightful lunch or dinner experience will take us back to those distant times.
We will make three stops:
First stop: Along the shores of Lake Argentino. Here, we'll interpret the local flora and landscape, and discuss glaciology and geology.
Second stop: Punta Bonita Cliffs. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and the Andes Mountains.
Third stop: Archaeological zone. Discover cave art and enjoy a meal in a cave.
We will then return to El Calafate.
