Horseback Riding Around Roca Lake

LAGO ROCA HORSE RIDING (FULL-DAY)

We will leave from selected hotels at 08:30 hs to go to Lago Roca Ranch, which is 42 km away from Calafate City. Once we get there, we will saddle up the horses and head for the mountain area, where we will make a one-hour tour to observe the local flora and fauna still we reach the principal point of view where we will marvel at the panoramic view of the Perito Moreno Glacier, Roca Lake, Cerro Moreno, Brazo Sur, Cerro Frias, Peninsula de Magallanes and the Valley of the Camiseta River.

We will continue riding during one hour and a half to get to the Rio Rico Campament to enjoy a delicious lunch, which will consist of meat to disk with wine, juice or water. After lunch and a rest time, we will ride for another hour until we reach the Estancia, where we will dismount and return to El Calafate at approximately 5 pm.

HORSE RIDING TO CHILE BORDER (2 DAYS AND 1 NIGHT)

This a special option so we will go to the border with Chile. We will leave with our horses from Lago Roca Ranch to border the Rio Rico river, which flows into the southern arm of Lago Argentino. We will cross valleys, wading through streams and mallines to reach Puesto La Rosada.

We will spend the night in a mountain shelter and the next day, we will return by a high road (weather permitting) to see the Paine Massif and the southern arm of Lago Argentino. Throughout the journey we will be recognizing native species of flora and fauna, while learning more about the history, geology and geography of the place.
