The Glaciarium is conveniently situated just 7 km from El Calafate, on the route leading to the Perito Moreno Glacier. To enhance accessibility, free transfers are provided from a designated meeting point, with departures every hour or half-hour and returns scheduled at similar intervals. The first service runs from El Calafate to Glaciarium at opening time, while the last return from Glaciarium to El Calafate coincides with closing time.
The experience is flexible, shaped by the opening and closing hours of the Glaciarium. Although the visit typically lasts about 3 hours, including a 20-minute visit to the Glacio Bar, guests can tailor their visit to suit their own pace and preferences.
As you enter the Glaciarium, a dark hallway greets you, accompanied by the soothing sound of dripping meltwater. Information panels provide insights into the formation of ice, the history of explorers and scientists, and the glaciological periods. These are complemented by photographs from renowned Argentine photographers such as Florian Von der Flecht, Daniel Wagner, and Andrés Bonetti.
A large model showcases the ice field, the source of the glaciers you will admire during your visit. There's also a tribute to Francisco Pascasio Moreno.

The Glacio Bar is uniquely positioned in the heart of Argentine Patagonia. Covering 80 m², it maintains an ambient temperature of -10 °C. Everything within the bar, from the walls to the furniture—including glasses, the bar, and chairs—is crafted from glacier ice.
Upon entry, visitors are outfitted with thermal layers and gloves. The temperature inside ranges from -6 to -10 °C. The 20-minute experience is enhanced by animation, lights, and music, creating a lively atmosphere while you enjoy a shot and drink (including spirits, appetizers, liqueurs, and non-alcoholic beverages) included.
