Tour Description
Your adventure begins early in the morning with a hotel pick-up in El Calafate. From there, you will travel to El Chaltén, enjoying some of Patagonia’s most iconic landscapes along the way.
During the journey, we will make a technical stop in La Leona, where you will have time to use the restrooms and enjoy a good breakfast before continuing to El Chaltén.
Upon arrival in the village, we will meet our trekking guide, authorized by Los Glaciares National Park, and continue by vehicle to the Río Eléctrico Bridge, located approximately 18 km from El Chaltén. The trek will begin from there.
🌲 Trekking to Laguna de los Tres
The hike begins by crossing a ñire forest, with the trail gradually ascending through the region’s natural landscapes.
One of the first major attractions is the Piedras Blancas Glacier Viewpoint, where we can admire this impressive hanging glacier and take a break while enjoying the surrounding scenery.
We will then continue walking through the forest until reaching Poincenot Camp and later Río Blanco, an area used as a camp by climbers aiming to conquer the imposing walls of Fitz Roy.
From there, the most demanding section of the excursion begins: the final ascent to Laguna de los Tres.
The effort will be rewarded when we reach one of Patagonia’s most iconic landscapes. Before us will be Mount Fitz Roy, Glaciar de los Tres (Three Glaciers), and the lagoon, surrounded by enormous granite walls.
We will have time to rest, admire the scenery, and enjoy lunch before beginning the descent.
💧 Returning through new landscapes
The return journey will give us the opportunity to continue discovering the area’s natural beauty, following trails accompanied by streams and crystal-clear watercourses.
During the descent, we will also visit Laguna Capri, another highlight of the route, before continuing toward El Chaltén.
Once in town, you will have approximately 45 minutes of free time to relax and recharge. You can use this time to enjoy a craft beer, hot chocolate, waffles, or another of the local culinary specialties.
Finally, we will begin the return journey by vehicle to El Calafate.
