Join us to explore the renowned Santa Cruz River, a significant waterway in Patagonia famously navigated by Charles Darwin.
Journeying along the iconic Route 40, we will set off in a 4x4 vehicle towards the river. We will embark on this adventure in kayaks, guided by a certified expert, allowing us to marvel at the stunning geological formations and observe a diverse array of wildlife as we paddle along.
After a 15 km paddling experience, the excursion will conclude with a delicious lunch on the riverbank.
Tour Description
The adventure kicks off with the pick-up of guests from their accommodations in El Calafate. If you’re not staying at a designated hotel, such as an Airbnb or private residence, the meeting point will be at the ACA Parking Lot or the roundabout near the Secretary of Tourism.
This is a true multi-adventure excursion. We will set out in a 4x4 vehicle along the legendary Route 40, heading towards the Santa Cruz River, one of Argentina's most significant rivers. Upon arrival, you'll be equipped and receive a technical briefing from our experienced guide before we start our downstream paddle.
Throughout our 15 km journey, you'll have the chance to marvel at geological formations, fossil remains, and a rich array of wildlife. These natural wonders once inspired Darwin during his historic exploration of the region.
Our journey concludes at the Estancia Río Bote, where a well-earned lunch by the riverbank awaits us!
The tour wraps up with the return of guests to their hotels in El Calafate.
