The tour kicks off at 7:30 AM with the collection of guests from their hotels situated in downtown Calafate. We will journey about 45 km along a route that meanders through the rural landscape, offering views of charming wooden houses along the way.
Upon reaching Puerto de Punta Bandera on Lago Argentino, we will board a modern, comfortable boat, setting sail from the port to commence our navigation. As we traverse majestic icebergs, we will navigate the northern arm of Lake Argentina, reaching the navigation limit allowed in the Upsala Channel. This offers us a breathtaking panoramic view of the Upsala Glacier's face. We will continue our journey through the Canal Cristina until we arrive at the Costumbrista Museum, a historical site situated in a former shearing shed, where you will learn about the Estancia's rich history.
Next, 4x4 vehicles will be ready for us to embark on a 9.5 km trek through Cordón Feruglio along a mountain road, which was once blanketed by glaciers. During this journey, we will witness landscapes of remarkable geological interest, culminating at the Continental Ice Shelter.
From this point, we will embark on a walk lasting approximately 20 minutes to reach the Uppsala Viewpoint, positioned at 550 meters above sea level. From here, we can marvel at Lake Guillermo and the stunning eastern front of the Upsala Glacier, along with the Southern Patagonian Ice, and the Murallón and Don Bosco Hills.
