Our journey kicks off at 08:30 am with a pick-up from the central hotels in El Calafate, setting course for the base of the Andes Mountains. Here, we will embark on a scenic drive up the mountain road of Cerro Frías. This picturesque route is situated on the grounds of Estancia Alice, located just 23 kilometers from the city center, where we can appreciate the local flora and fauna. Our journey will be undertaken in Land Rover Defender trucks, specially equipped and adapted to ensure safety and comfort throughout the excursion.
As we ascend, we will be treated to an incredible panoramic view of the region, including the breathtaking expanse of Lake Argentino. Our adventure leads us to the first viewpoint, perched 450 meters above sea level, offering a glimpse of the Centinela River.
The second stop on our journey, situated at 1030 meters, provides a stunning vantage point to admire the Torres del Paine, Roca Lake, the Cadena de Cristales, the Canal de los Témpanos, the Rico Sur branches of Lake Argentino, and its northern arm. On a clear day, you'll also be able to see the majestic Andes Mountains and Mount Fitz Roy.
Upon reaching the highest point of our route, we will begin our descent through the native lenga forest along the southern slope of the Mount, eventually arriving at the ranch’s barbecue area.
