The tour kicks off with a hotel pick-up starting at 9:00 am, heading north to visit the Jesuit Ranches of Colonia Caroya and Jesús María. These sites hold significant value as they have been designated as World Heritage by UNESCO, being part of the historic Royal Road to Upper Peru.
Colonia Caroya offers a blend of regional flavors, wineries, and religious sites, making it an ideal spot to enjoy nature, savor local cuisine, and unwind. Our visit will focus on the historical and religious aspects of this location.
The tour's initial stop will be at the Tourist Interpretation Center and the Jesuit Legacy of Colonia Caroya, where we will spend about 15 to 20 minutes learning about the territorial and historical development of the Society of Jesus in this region.
Next, we'll head to the Colonia Caroya Ranch, the first rural establishment founded by the Society of Jesus in 1616, where we will spend approximately an hour. During our visit, we'll explore the museum, which showcases the Jesuit Legacy, its role as the "First White Arms Factory," and the significant Italian influences.
After spending time at this ranch, we will proceed to Jesús María, a place rich in heritage, culture, and history, and recognized as one of the province's most significant cities.
On our panoramic tour, we'll pass through the countryside known for hosting the Argentine Taming and Folklore Festival in January. Our final destination will be the Jesuit Estancia Jesús María, dating back to 1618. Here, for about an hour and a half, we will explore the museum and its rooms featuring Cusco’s sacred art, archaeology, ceramics, and more.
Ultimately, after 4 hours, we'll return to Córdoba and drop you off at your hotel.
