Descripción del Tour
Our exciting bike tour commences at the designated meeting point in the Miraflores district. We will embark on this cycling adventure by navigating through the charming streets of this tourist-friendly area until we arrive at the archaeological site of La Huaca Pucllana (note: closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Constructed between 200 and 700 AD, this impressive architectural site was developed by the Lima culture, a pre-Inca civilization from Peru's central coast. The huaca features a prominent adobe pyramid, standing 25 meters tall, surrounded by plazas, courtyards, and various ceremonial and administrative structures.
If your tour falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, you will instead visit the Huaca Huallamarca, an archaeological treasure located in the San Isidro district. This stepped pyramid was utilized and adapted by several pre-Hispanic cultures over centuries. Initially, it belonged to the Lima culture, but later saw modifications by the Wari culture and the Incas.
The Huaca Huallamarca is primarily composed of large mud bricks known as adobes. It has undergone numerous restorations to preserve its integrity and ensure public accessibility. Excavations have uncovered burials, offerings, and a variety of ceramic and textile artifacts, highlighting its ceremonial and funerary significance.
Our bike journey will continue through the picturesque parks of these two districts until we reach the Malecón of Miraflores, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean as we ride along.
Next, we'll explore the Surquillo market, a bustling and popular traditional market in the city. Known for its extensive selection of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, seafood, and diverse local culinary products, here you can savor a refreshing natural fruit juice.
We'll pause for a delightful coffee break with a scenic view of the sea. Finally, we will make our way back to the meeting point.
