Descripción del Tour
Our thrilling adventure begins at the picturesque Plaza Regocijo, just a stone's throw from the magnificent Plaza de Armas in Cusco. Once gathered, we'll board a comfortable tourist vehicle that will whisk us away to the delightful village of Cruspata. The scenic drive will take approximately 50 minutes, culminating at the starting point of our extraordinary ATV experience.
An expert guide will provide a comprehensive introduction to the chosen route, allowing you time to become acquainted with the ATV operations. Following a 30-minute training session, we will board the transport again and proceed to one of the following destinations of your choice: Huapo Lagoon or Moray.
The first route leads to the awe-inspiring Huaypo Lagoon, nestled in the district of Eqqeco near the charming village of Chinchero, at an elevation of 3,500 meters above sea level. For about 2 hours, you will explore the enchanting surroundings of this lagoon, which spans 1 kilometer in length, while immersing yourself in the captivating legends that envelop it.
Additionally, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the majestic mountain ranges, such as Salkantay, Verónica, and Chicón. This location offers a variety of activities, including fishing and water sports.
The second route takes you to the fascinating Moray ruins. Enjoy a thrilling 2-hour ATV ride around this site, followed by a 20-minute walking tour to explore the Inca ruins. Situated 7 kilometers from Maras, the archaeological site of Moray features three colossal circular terraces, each with its own unique story. The largest terrace, plunging to an impressive depth of about 30 meters (98 feet), is a sight to behold.
You'll marvel at the agricultural terraces arranged in concentric circles, reminiscent of an ancient Greek theater. The name Moray is linked to corn cultivation, known as "Aymoray" in Quechua. Delve into the history of this place and discover its role as an agricultural laboratory.
Be astonished by the sophisticated irrigation system developed in Moray, a testament to the advanced engineering of its time. This visit not only connects you with nature and history but also enhances your understanding of Inca agricultural techniques.
After exploring either the Huaypo Lagoon or Moray, we will return to the base to leave the ATVs and once again board the transport to head towards the renowned Maras Salt Mines.
Located just 40 kilometers northwest of the majestic city of Cusco, in the Urubamba province, you'll discover the remarkable natural salt pools known as Maras, dating back to the Inca era. Situated at an elevation of 3,300 meters above sea level, these pools are a true marvel of Inca engineering and construction.
You will be captivated by the sight of saltwater flowing beneath the pools and evaporating, leaving behind salt crystals that form over 3,000 natural pools. The views from this location are simply breathtaking, as it sits on an open hillside, creating a unique and spectacular landscape.
The charming town of Maras is dedicated to the production and sale of salt extracted from Maras, alongside its rich agricultural and livestock traditions. After exploring this delightful locale, we will embark on our exciting ATV tour of Maras. Choose from two captivating routes during your reservation.
At the conclusion of this exhilarating experience, we will return to the city of Cusco, where you'll be dropped off at the final point of the excursion, at Plaza El Regocijo.
