Tour Description
- Day 1: Arrival and Pirate Ship Ride
Upon landing at Santa Marta airport, a private transfer will greet you and take you to your hotel, where you’ll spend 4 nights in your selected accommodation.
The first experience of your journey is a Pirate Ship Ride across Santa Marta Bay, set for the afternoon. After checking in, you’ll head independently to the Marina Internacional to board a real pirate ship and enjoy an unforgettable adventure of about one hour.
During this cruise, you’ll discover historic landmarks such as the Rodrigo de Bastidas statue, Punta Betín, El Morro, and Fort San Fernando, all while listening to tales of colonial times and pirate raids in the region. A pirate kit will be provided, and if the captain allows, you can try steering the ship from the sterncastle. This activity includes marina access and sailing—an excellent introduction to Santa Marta’s wealth of experiences: history, adventure, and panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Nevada.
- Day 2: Tayrona Park and Cabo San Juan
Begin your day early with hotel pickup at 7:00 AM for your transfer to Tayrona National Natural Park along the Troncal del Caribe Highway. After a 45-minute drive, you’ll enter the park, where you’ll receive a briefing about conservation and safety.
Embark on a guided hike to Cabo San Juan lasting around 2 hours. The trail takes you through lush tropical forests, streams, and rocky paths, with opportunities to spot native plants and wildlife such as orchids, palms, and colorful birds. Once you reach Cabo San Juan, relax on the white sand beaches and swim in the crystal-clear waters. There are local restaurants available for lunch (not included).
The tour concludes in the mid-afternoon with your return to the hotel, after enjoying one of the most iconic beaches on the Colombian Caribbean coast.
- Day 3: Discovering Minca and the Sierra Nevada
At 8:30 AM, depart for Minca in the Sierra Nevada, accompanied by a local guide. Your first stop is a coffee farm, where you’ll learn about Colombia’s coffee-making tradition and enjoy fresh tastings of this iconic beverage.
Next, take a 30-minute walk to natural swimming holes, perfect for a refreshing dip and connecting with nature. Around midday, savor a gourmet lunch in a bamboo house, paired with insights on local biodiversity and the sustainable use of bamboo in construction.
The journey continues with a brief visit to an artisanal cocoa museum, where you’ll discover the traditional chocolate-making process in the area. The experience ends at approximately 4:30 PM, with your return to your hotel in Santa Marta.
- Day 4: El Rodadero, Aquarium and Playa Blanca – Marine Adventure and Relaxation in the Caribbean
Next, the boat continues to Playa Blanca, celebrated for its white sands and turquoise waters. In this idyllic setting, enjoy an included traditional coastal lunch as you take in the breathtaking views of the Caribbean. The afternoon is yours to swim, sunbathe, or explore, creating memories with fantastic photos. At day’s end, return by boat to El Rodadero and then to your Santa Marta hotel, wrapping up a day filled with marine adventure, nature, and seaside relaxation.
